This listing is only for the Blue Lantern, the Red is also listed, they were off the same destroyer that served in WW2 although very similar and function the same but are not the same. In war, you use what you have and you get what you get. Read the entire listing please. My Opinion it is in Good Working CONDITION.

Everything works as it should, threaded top turns smoothly, sliding covers, slide. It was wired up using the original bulb mounting so it can be plugged in and light up. Weighs with wire & bulb over 8 1/2 pounds.

You may want to install a brighter bulb to really make it shine. The lantern uses a standard house hold screw in socket that will accept common light bulbs you would use for most lighting fixtures. Gotten from an Estate that I know the family. Grandfather lived in New Jersey and worked in various breaker yards from when in 1929 at age 16 he had to go to work for his family, he worked there 56 years retiring at aged 72 in 1985. He had tags and little notes on pieces of paper tucked in or stuck on many of his items that had what he took them off of.

This one and the Red one had (DD-519) on tore folded scraps of paper that were stuck in the bottom slides. I had looked it up it was a Fletcher Class destroyer named the USS Daly DD519 that served in WW2 and then in Korea. 1976 she was scrapped at the American Smelting Co. That's the only p rovenance I have had many of his items since the early 1990's.

At the time I didn't think to get anything in writing or save those scraps. I will be listing more of my collection of items and some more from this estate, so please keep checking in. 5.375 wide at the base. 8.75 to where the wire comes out the top. 11.25 to top of'handle' when straight up.
