Vintage Perko Oil Lamp Nautical Lantern Anchor Light Converted Electric Antique
Vintage Perko Oil Lamp Nautical Lantern Anchor Light Converted Electric Antique. This is a very rare antique Perko lantern from around the 1940s. It is in very good condition considering it's age. It has a beautiful patina. The body is made of copper and the cage around the glass is brass.

Was originally founded in 1907 as Perkins Marine Lamp Corp in Brooklyn NY. In 1922 the company became known as Perko with their highly successful line of Perko marine lanterns.

Perko is still one of the largest manufacturers of marine lights, hardware, and navigation equipment in America today. The fresnel glass is in excellent condition, no cracks. It could use a better cleaning.

It is a little over 15 inches tall and roughly 8 inch by 8 inch wide. I've done quite a bit of research on this lantern but can't pinpoint an exact date of manufacture, only that it is from around the 1940s. There is areas of discoloration which is expected with aged copper and brass, please refer to the photographs. Also there are minor scratches but please refer to photographs for condition. This lantern has been electrified so that it can be used continuously without having to refill oil.

The original oil burner was removed and a light socket, wiring, and a switch were installed, which can be seen in the photographs.
