Vintage Large 28 Mid Century Pierced Brass Moroccan Candle Lantern

For your consideration is a large vintage Moroccan pierced brass candle lantern. Dating to the mid-20th century, the lantern is beautifully hand crafted with an intricate pierced geometric design that surrounds it. Substantial in size and quite heavy, the lantern stands approximately 28" in height, is 13.5" at its widest measurement, and weighs 14 pounds. A large brass ring for hanging was likely once attached through the hole near the top of the finial but has been lost across past decades, although a replacement could easily be inserted if desired. An obviously much loved lantern that has been enjoyed with some frequency, it is in overall good condition with no sign of dents, dings, or other compromising imperfections. The door, hinges, and latch all function properly and operate as intended. The brass holds a dark and rich patina that tells of its age and has not been polished for some time. The brass is in sound condition structurally with no evidence of corrosion or oxidation, though some of the built up tarnish that's present may be difficult or unlikely to remove. The candle holder inside the lantern will accommodate one taper candle.
