Vintage JUNK LIGHT Nautical Oil Lantern, Marked Great Britain Dated 1968

Vintage "JUNK LIGHT" Nautical Oil Lantern, Marked "Great Britain", Numbered, Dated 1968. I know nothing about this type of lantern. Other than it's nautical. Overall height of 14.5-inches (including wooden bale-type handle). Actual compartment that holds the oil, wick, and globe is 8.5-inches tall by 5.5-inches wide.

Slide-wire closure of lantern is tight and a little hard to manipulate. Globe, wick, and oil reservoir slide out on a little track.

Heavy wire grid-work protects the glass panels from breakage. One wire is missing (see photo) I almost did not notice it as it does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Dated: 3/08/1966, Number 334 (see photo of metal label). Weighs in the vicinity of 10 lbs. And thank you for stopping by.
