Vintage Islamic Moroccan Pierced Iron Stained Glass Candle Lamp Lantern 20 1/2
This listing is for the old lamp or lantern that you see in the photos. I think that it is probably old enough to be considered vintage but I don't know how old it is. Some research and it's general appearance tells me that it was probably made in the region of Morocco and that it might be considered Islamic.
Measured to the top of the wire hanger at the top of the lantern, it measures close to 20 and 1/2 inches tall. Not including the wire loop at the top, it measures close to 19 in tall. Each of the four sides measure close to 7 and 1/2 inches. It weighs close to 3 pound 10 ounces.
It attracts a magnet and I see some orange colored oxidation so I think that it is probably made from iron or alloy of iron that is possibly steel I. I did not have a candle to take a photos with I took a photo using the small light on my loupe. I think that a candle would probably be brighter and the general appearance would be somewhat different. The loupe is not included in the listing.
The condition is much like you see it in the photos. A close-up photos shows a line on the dome where there is an irregularity that makes the area look a little deformed.
It might be a dent or it might have been made that way. There is some light oxidation that appears as orange. Some of the clear glass has a film on it so that it is not clear or is only partially clear. As a close-up can show some of the clear glass has spots on it that did not come off when I gave them a light cleaning. I only spent a brief amount of time cleaning the glass. There are no cracks in the glass. The lamp might benefit from further cleaning or you might like it just the way it is. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this lamp be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description; please look at all of them. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure.Often, I have a double-walled box custom made for larger items, which might result in a short delay.
