Vintage Coleman 242NL Junior Lantern No Date Single Mantle Green/Nickel 1932-33. Offered for sale is a Coleman 242NL (no letter) single mantle junior lantern that is not dated. Research indicates it (probably) dates to between 1932 and 1933. This lantern is in very good, used, working condition.

The globe has the Coleman sunshine of the night logo etched on one side and PYREX Made in USA on the other side. The ventilator is green and the fount is nickel plated.

The fount is in overall nice condition with one area of loss, much smaller than the size of a dime (photo 11). The vent has a hex head screw on top rather than the typical nut (photo 20). It has some loss, shown in photos 20, 21, 22 and 23.

We tested this and it burns, although a true Coleman collector may want to fiddle with the settings to fine-tune it. The mantle is a consumable item. It is possible it may not arrive intact. We will include a box that is marked Fragile Handle with Care. We don't know if it is the original box. The top portion is missing. Please view the photos and message us with questions. Although no reasonable offers will be refused, we ask you to consider our efforts to find and sell high quality items and err to the side of generosity. If the Best Offer feature is disabled, that indicates that we've already dropped the price several times.
