" The center part "COLEMAN QUICK-LITE. There is a marking on the base of the vent which reads US Pat. May13, 1919, and British Patent 153329. It is very similar to others I have seen on e-bay, except there is no marking embossed on the top middle of the vent. The mica glass has deterioration, cracked and worn due to the old age of the piece.
The controls do not move freely, they seem to be frozen in place (see pictures). The original provided storage box was wooden, and deteriorated beyond use, with only the top (pictured at base of lantern) of the box remaining (included). The silver colored hand air pump (in picture #1) is included with this listing. This model uses the hand pump to charge the tank through the valve on the filler cap. Please note (pictured) wire tool hanging from the handle (also included).
This lantern was owned and used by my Grandparents on camp outings, which would date it back to the twenties or thirties. I haven't light the lantern since the sixties, when I last went camping. The controls are'frozen' in place, so I don't know if it operable or not, so I'll mark it'Untested' and'As Is'. Someone could surely restore it to usable condition (not guaranteed but just an opinion). Valued as a'family heirloom'. Ready to pass it on for future generations someone else to display and enjoy!
