Antique Durkee Marine Ship Lantern Red Fresnel Lens Bronze Cage Electrified

Authentic vintage port-side navigation lantern by Durkee Marine, one of America's most respected nautical equipment manufacturers. The red ribbed Fresnel glass lens glows brilliantly when lit - this piece has been electrified and works perfectly (see photos).

Approximately 12" wide x 17" tall. Red ribbed Fresnel glass lens (port side navigation light).

Cast iron/steel body with original black painted finish. Protective bronze/brass cage with horizontal ring bracing. Heavy bronze base stamped Durkee Marine. Hanging bail ring on top; side mounting rings. Electrified - plugs in and lights up. Condition: Honest vintage wear throughout. The top cap shows white mineral/salt deposits from marine exposure - authentic patina from a life at sea, not damage.

Some paint peeling on the lower body and base. Bronze and brass show heavy green verdigris consistent with decades of coastal exposure. Fresnel lens is intact and undamaged. A dramatic statement piece for a coastal home, restaurant, bar, or any nautical-themed space.

Durkee Marine lanterns are increasingly hard to find in working condition.
