ANTIQUE DIETZ SPORT SKATER LANTERN OIL LAMP with H2 GLOBE ALL ORIGINAL

This lantern was used by my Great-Great Grandfather in the early 20th century on his working gold claim property in Angels Camp, CA. Used mostly in his tool shed for illumination while he worked on maintaining his tools & refining paydirt, it wasn't carried around the property much or used by the kids VERBOTEN! He would say which is how its condition has been so well preserved. The lamp has been kept as a family memento in curio cabinets for the last 60+ years. Text on the crown reads: Dietz Sport made in U.

Embossing on the glass shade reads: Dietz Scout N. LAMP is rusted and shows normal wear from use with appropriate patina for its age. It appears to be fully functional with movement in the wick lever but I didn't attempt to take the lamp apart to investigate overall condition. This very nice, collectable &hard-to-find lamp would be a sensational item for anyone's antique lanterns collection- either as it sits or with modest restoration.

GLOBE has crack as shown in photos. It has been hand washed.
