It is in very good condition, with a nice. Aged surface that gives it character. This impressive example retains its large rounded clear glass globe, protective wire cage, ventilated metal upper housing, carrying/guard rings, and removable internal oil/kerosene burner assembly. The burner is especially nice to have, as these components are often missing from surviving decorative lanterns. The lantern has developed an attractive aged surface with oxidation, discoloration, scratches, and general wear consistent with age and previous use.
The glass shows surface wear and would benefit from careful cleaning. Please examine all photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description. An outstanding display piece for a nautical collection, maritime décor, yacht or sailing enthusiast, coastal home, restaurant, pub, marina, or vintage lighting collection. The large onion-shaped glass globe and elaborate cage give this lantern considerably more visual presence than many smaller Tung Woo navigation lamps.
Important note: The lantern has been modified or adapted for electrical illumination with a standard ES light bulb socket. The wiring is currently loose/cut and has not been tested. A qualified person should perform any electrical restoration.
