Beautiful vintage/Antique amber textured-glass hanging pendant lantern with an ornate Old World, Spanish Revival, Mediterranean, Gothic Revival, and Tudor-style appearance. The rounded cathedral or birdcage-style shade features warm amber hammered glass surrounded by decorative metal straps with rich bronze and copper-tone highlights. The frame includes an attractive Greek key geometric pattern, while the decorative top finial, cast-iron chain links, and aged ceiling canopy give the fixture wonderful architectural character. The ornamental chain links are cast iron and have been coated with a protective matte finish to help prevent rust while preserving an attractive dark bronze appearance. The ceiling canopy has an aged pewter or antiqued silver tone, creating a complementary mixture of bronze, copper, dark iron, and pewter-style finishes.
When illuminated, the amber glass produces a warm golden glow that would look striking in an entryway, foyer, hallway, stairwell, dining area, historic home, Spanish-style interior, Mediterranean décor, or Arts and Crafts-inspired setting. All amber glass panels are present and intact. A couple of the glass pieces were securely reattached with adhesive because some of the original metal retaining tabs were missing. The repair turned out very well, and the panels feel secure and strong, but the fixture remains missing a few retaining tabs. The metal surfaces show age-related patina, finish variation, and wear consistent with a vintage light fixture.
